Metropolitan State University of 丹佛 holds many diversity-focused events each year. 的se events include two 访问教授, the Dr. 马丁·路德·金. Noel Distinguished 访问ing Professorship was initiated in 1981 to foster multiculturalism, diversity and academic excellence at 密歇根州立大学丹佛. 的 professorship brings extraordinary African American scholars and artists to 密歇根州立大学丹佛, celebrating the struggle for civil rights and African American culture, while providing learning opportunities for students, 教师 and the larger 丹佛 community.

Thorpe, a former assistant vice president of student affairs at 密歇根州立大学丹佛. 的 breakfast was created to celebrate the life and philosophy of Dr. 王, and includes a cultural program and awards ceremony recognizing individuals from the local community, 教师, staff and students who have demonstrated a commitment to the values expressed by Dr. 王: peace, justice, civil rights, diversity and equality. 的 牛奶和平早餐 has grown to become one of the most popular events at the University.

Higher Education Diversity Summit (HEDS)

的 终身教职晚餐俱乐部 (TTSC) is a 教师 retention program, which utilizes mentorship as a tool in the retention of minority 教师. 的 program welcomes tenure track 教师 from all underrepresented populations and engages them with tenured 教师 who prepare them for earning tenure.
